Guideline for the meeting with the installation technician

Well-founded advice with a professional should be the first step to installing your photovoltaic system. This crucial discussion should be prepared carefully.
 
Use the following discussion notes as your personal guideline to ensure that you address all essential issues:

 

  1. Roof type: Saddle roof, lean-to-roof, flat roof or similar?
  2. Roof installation: In-roof or on-roof mounting?
  3. Module type: Monocrystalline or multicrystalline modules?
  4. Roof alignment: What direction does the roof face?
  5. Roof inclination: What is the angle of the slope?
  6. Availability of roof area: How much space can really be used?
  7. Eaves height: Distance between ground and gutter?
  8. Freedom from shade year round: Are there any trees, antennas, chimneys or similar in close vicinity?
  9. Tiles: Pan tiles, trapezoidal sheet metal, Eternit, corrugated sheet, slate or other roof coverings?
  10. Are there ventilation tiles available?
  11. Are power inverters easily accessible?
  12. Export meter: How far is it between the power inverter and the meter box?

On the premises two solar plants, partly owned by asola employees, are  tapping the environmentally friendly energy. 
 
The two installations are producing monthly the power, which 6 German households are consuming in average.
